Cameroon President arrives Nigeria for state visit tomorrow

President Paul Biya of Cameroon will begin a two-day state visit to Nigeria tomorrow, Tuesday, May 3, 2016.

President Biya will be visiting at the invitation of President Muhammadu Buhari.

President Biya will be accompanied by his wife, Chantal and senior Cameroonian government officials.

They will be received tomorrow afternoon at the Presidential Villa, Abuja by President Buhari.

Both leaders and their officials will confer on issues of common interest to Nigeria and Cameroon.

It will include ongoing bilateral and regional cooperation against terrorism, violent extremism and cross-border crimes.

It is expected that new agreements will be concluded and signed before the end of President Biya’s visit.

The new agreements are aimed to strengthen existing ties, as well as trade and economic relations between Nigeria and Cameroon.

A joint communiqué on the visit and the talks between the two presidents and their officials will be issued.

The communiqué will be issued before President Biya’s departure from Abuja on Wednesday, May 4, 2016.
