A Catholic Priest has been accused of flogging a 50-year-old teacher at the school he oversees over a disagreement.
Reverend Fr. Jude Muokwe, a priest of Roman Catholic Church, Awka Diocese, allegedly whipped Mrs Ikeorah Maureen severely in her classroom during school hours.
Ikeorah, a widow from Umuanugwo village, Ifitedunu is a Primary 6 teacher at Angel’s Primary School, Ifitedunu.
On 12th February 2025, Ikeorah raised questions after the priest allegedly reneged on a contract agreement he made with the teachers over the pupils’ lesson fees.
The priest reportedly did not like the teacher’s effrontery and resorted to flogging her.
In a video sighted by News Band Newspaper, the woman can be heard speaking in Igbo, while narrating what happened.
Ikeorah said, “He came and started flogging me and slapping me. He claimed I called the teachers for a meeting. I did not call any meeting.
“See my face, see my back, see my legs”.
Meanwhile, Anambra Ministry of Education is yet to react to the development.
