Chelsea Women have officially confirmed the signing of France international Melvine Malard from Manchester United in one of the biggest transfers of the 2026 summer window, with the experienced forward becoming the club’s new number nine.
The 26 year old has signed a four year contract with the Women’s Super League champions in a deal reportedly worth at least £750,000, with performance related bonuses expected to increase the total package to between £850,000 and £1 million.
The transfer also represents the biggest sale in Manchester United Women’s history and ranks among the most expensive deals ever completed in women’s football.
Malard arrives at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea continue rebuilding their attacking department following the departures of several key forwards, including Australian superstar Sam Kerr.

Seeking greater first team opportunities, Malard joined Manchester United in 2023.
