Christians Raise Alarm Over Call To Silence Fani Kayode, Osinbajo
Two Christian groups, Christian Arise Network Of Nigeria and Middle Belt Consensus have raised alarm over calls to “silence” pro-Christian voices like Chief Femi Fani Kayode.
They referred to a piece by a Northern writer calling “for the silencing of any voices that dare criticize President Buhari. He also called for the indefinite arrest of voices like Chief Femi Fani Kayode.”
The group also pointed to the recent information being circulated among Muslim quarters “telling Northern Muslim youths that Buhari was poisoned by Christians so Prof Osinbajo can take over power.”
They asserted that these are all propaganda to initiate a war against Christian across the country.
They, therefore, called for “Christians to arise, whether you are from the North, South, East and West,” saying:
“We must unite against this evil. These monsters who have brought us nothing but hunger. They have taken Christians out of leadership positions all over the country.
The statement, which was signed by the Conveners, Ibrahim Bunu, Dafph Daf, Ayuba Azzaman, Timothy Nasso, George Makeri, reads:
Recently, a Northern Muslim named Aliyu Zaharaddeen wrote a piece titled “Northerners Must Be Very Ready From Now Onward, The Battle Line Has Been Drawn – My Patriotic Call”. The date on the piece is 18/05/2017.
In the piece the writer called on the North to unite against the south. He brazenly called for the domination of Southerners. He praised the mafia in the corridors of power for designating Prof Osinbajo as coordinator of national affairs as against the constitutionally recognized ACTING PRESIDENT.
He called for the silencing of any voices that dare criticize President Buhari. He also called for the indefinite arrest of voices like Chief Femi Fani Kayode.
In his own words: “I read so many of Fani-Kayode threats and warning against northern leaders, but let it be clear to him and all the southerners thinking in his way, those that have short sight, dead brain and deprive of commonsense that a northern presidency is the only possible way to have a peaceful and united Nigeria after 2019.”
Inasmuch as we respect his right to free speech we also have a right to counter their narratives with the truth. Only the truth can set free.
We, the CHRISTIAN ARISE NETWORK have read and digested every letter of the piece and we are taking the threats very seriously.
We find it appalling that, in this day and age, some elements are calling for the curtailing of the freedom of a man like Chief Femi Fani-Kayode whom we shall henceforth in this piece refer to as FFK.
FFK has been the lone voice in the wilderness calling for truth and justice. To silence him, the draconian Govt of Buhari brought frivolous charges against him knowing the mindset of the average Nigerian Christian.
They used the corruption charges to try and silence him but this fearless lion has kept on fighting and the powers that be are jittery. They know the truth is becoming apparent on a daily basis. Like a frightened lion they are charging at him and hoping to cow him into submission.
FFK, being a fearless fighter have refused to be deterred and they are now looking for other means to get rid of him. I dare say that murder is not off the table.
We, as a body have decided that I we defend our own with our lives. Unfortunately, many Christians have fallen for the deception of the sons of perdition.
They believe every story of corruption levelled against anyone but have you noticed that any time a true child of God stands in the gap on behalf of Christians all over the country there is always one scandal or another?
Funny part is that, it is fellow Christians that help spread the propaganda. These are the same people who used propaganda to get into office.
They told you that former president Goodluck Jonathan stole all our national wealth. They told you that they would make one Naira equal to one dollar. They told you to stone them after two years if they do not perform.
Guess what? Two years down the lane, our hard won democracy has become blamocracy. A government of the blamed, to the populace for the good of the blamers. In less than two years they have turned the wheel of progress backwards. They have taken Nigeria back thirty years.
One thing that a lot of people, especially Christians don’t know is that this war is not between the North and South. This is the narrative they want to put out there. This is a battle between light and darkness. Christ against the Antichrist.
When they want power they tell the Middle Belters that they are all part of the North. They make the Northern Christian believe that this is a Northern agenda but what many don’t know is, they are only putting out the Ottoman Dan Fodio agenda.
This agenda is nothing short of Islamization. You may want to ask, if it’s Islamization how come they also want to dominate the Southern Muslims?
Truth is, the Fulani Muslim believes he is the true Muslim. They don’t even consider other Muslims as true Muslims. That’s why this government can murder fellow Muslims just because their Islamic ideology is different from theirs.
