A civil society group under the auspices of Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Center (CISLAC), has called upon the media for cooperation in achieving its set goals and objectives.

The Program Officer and Trainer Organization Management and Structure, Moses Oluwaseyi who made the call while speaking to journalist maintained that the media and Civil Society Organization (CSO),  have underutilized support given to them by the center.

According to him, the media has not taken advantage of the partnership extended to them while the CSO on the other hand has not done well in transmitting the knowledge acquired in the lives of the people of the state.

He described the media as partners in progress and urged them to take advantage of the training provided by the center.
“ We train CSO and individuals in proposal writing, finance, capacity building, project monitoring and a host of others, we also train individuals interested in establishing NGO’s and NGI’s on how to go for funds from donors” Oluwaseyi stated.

On the successes recorded by the center, the program officer disclosed that so far the center has train over 30 CSO and hope to train another batch by December.
“Some of the CSO we have train has done us proud by organizing programmes with positive impact on the lives of the people of the state some of such CSO include the Laka Youth Development Initiative and the Adamawa state  Widows Association” He stated.

CISLAC is a nongovernmental, nonprofit, advocacy information sharing research and capacity building organization with a mission to strengthen the link between civil society and the legislature through advocacy and capacity building for civil society groups and policy makers on legislative processes and governance issues.
