Mr. Abba Godori, a member of Civilian JTF has been killed in a bomb explosion that rocked Kawuri town, Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.

He was the vice chairman of the Kawuri unit of the Civilian Joint Taskforce (CJTF).

News Band understand that the unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday when Godori reportedly stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED) suspected to have been planted by terrorists the previous day.

A source who doesn’t want to be quoted revealed that the explosion was unexpected and has left the community in shock.

The attack underscores the ongoing security challenges in the region, where insurgents continue to use guerrilla tactics to target security operatives and civilians.

Local authorities have since launched an investigation to identify the arrowheads and prevent further incidents.

“Mr Godori was on patrol when he stepped on the bomb. He was following the footsteps of the terrorists until he stepped on the bomb,” the source said.

Police authorities in Borno State are yet to issue a statement in respect to the development.
