Commissioner lauds Uzodinma’s performance in five years

The Hon Commissioner for Rural Development and Empowerment, Hon Ifeanyi Oruh has applauded Governor Hope Uzodinma on his performance so far as Imo state governor.
He stated this in his office in Owerri on Tuesday 11th February 2025 while addressing newsmen who paid him a courtesy visit.
Commissioner disclosed that Governor Hope Uzodinma has done well despite the global insecurity that bedevilled his government.
Hon Oruh noted that insecurity is not peculiar to Imo state alone but in every part of the country.
” You have the Boko Haram in North, the Niger Delta militants in the South south, the ISIS in some part of the world”, he stated.
Mazi Oruh said Governor Hope Uzodinma is Godsent and a strong man that is why he was able to face the challenges of insecurity in Imo state.
” When you talk about development nobody can say Governor Uzodinma is not working. Nobody can say Governor Uzodinma is working only in urban centres. He is governing both in urban and rural areas.”
Oruh disclosed that when Governor Uzodinma came onboard, COVID 19, EndSARS, came up but it did not stop him from performing.
“The governor took the bull by the horns and built Owerri- Orlu road, Owerri -Okigwe road not minding the dilapidated nature of Ekemele junction. He extended it to Owerri – Umuahia road, Orlu – Ideato road, Mgbidi-Oguta road, just to mention but a few,” he noted.
The Oru born Commissioner said the governor has worked in the three zones of Imo state, Orlu, Okigwe and Owerri zones adding that he is working many rural roads now.
He said the roads the governor has built is more than 120 roads covering both urban and rural areas.
“In education, he sponsored many indigent lawyers to law school, made Imo state university Owerri IMSU to state graduating medical students.
” In power he wants Imo state to start experiencing constant electricity supply which will kick-start in a couple of months.
” In Tourism sector, Concorde hotel is undergoing reconstruction, International Conference Centre undergoing reconstruction.
” The roads are standard compare to past government’s, boundary adjustments in oil producing communities handled, connected Imo to the centre, among others”, he stated.
Chief Oruh said the Governor has empowered youths, women etc through the ministry of Youths, Women affairs and that of Rural Development and Empowerment which he heads.
