Prince Henry Okafor
The Commissioner for Niger Delta Affairs and Intelligence Prince Henry Okafor has consoled the entire Agwa clan for the tragic attack on their people.
The Commissioner stated this in a Press statement on Sunday 8th June 2025 and made available to the public.
He states: “Sympathy Message to the People of Agwa Clan Over Tragic Attack
I extend my heartfelt condolences to the people of Agwa Clan in Oguta Local Government Area over the recent gruesome and unprovoked attack by killer herdsmen that led to the loss of many innocent lives.
This despicable act of violence is not only condemnable but also a grave assault on the peace-loving spirit of our people.
The Government of Imo State under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma, is taking decisive steps to restore peace and ensure that those responsible for this heinous crime are brought to justice.
Security agencies have been mobilised and are working round the clock to stabilise the affected areas and prevent any recurrence.
While the government is committed to protecting lives and property, we also call on the people of Agwa to remain united and support ongoing efforts by instituting strong, community-based vigilante groups.
Local intelligence and community vigilance remain critical in identifying and pre-empting security threats.
On behalf of my family and the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and Intelligence, I express deep sorrow and solidarity with the grieving families and the entire Agwa community.
May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may peace return swiftly to your land”, the statement read.
Recall that Prince Henry Okafor was the Managing Director of the Imo state Oil Producing Area Development Commission ISOPADEC.
And as ISOPADEC MD , he was responsible for development of the Niger Delta people of Imo state which Agwa clan was among.
And that has endeared him to the people and now that he’s their commissioner, he feels the same pain with them DDM News gathered.
