Nigeria’s Supersand Eagles started this year’s Copa Lagos on a disappointing note following a 3-6 loss to defending champions Côte D’Ivoire at the Eko Atlantic City Bar Beach venue of the tournament.

Abu Azeez scored two goals, while Suleiman Mohammed got sand eagles other goal.

Coach Adamu Ejo who is trying out a set of new players at the tournament has however assured his team will bounce back when they take on England on Saturday.

“Our strategy didn’t work; we are experimenting because most of our key players are not available.

“We have injected some new boys into the team but I’m assuring Nigerians that we will win our next two games,” Ejo said after the game.
