Ahead of the presidential election petition tribunal judgement on Wednesday, a pro-democracy group, Coalition for the Protection of Democracy—COPDEM, has announced that it will be hosting an international human rights conference with the theme: “State of the nation’s democracy: Policing civil protests in a democratic society”.
Also, the conference has “All Eyes On The Judiciary” as it’s sub theme.
The conference according to a flyer sighted by NewsBand will commence tomorrow in Abuja by 10am.
Guest organizations include, Nigeria Union of journalist—NUJ, Nigeria Labour Congress—NLC, Department of State Security Service—DSS, Nigeria police, Nigeria Bar Association—NBA, Union Bar and All Support Groups.
