COPDEM weeps as over 300 students are abducted in Niger State

The Coalition for Protection of Democracy (COPDEM), has expressed outraged over the abduction of 300 students in Niger State.

The pro-democracy group in a statement said the abduction cannot be ignored.

COPDEM however, called for immediate action from the Nigerian government and security forces so as to address the issue.

The statement reads: “The Coalition for Protection of Democracy (COPDEM) is outraged! Over 300 students and 12 teachers were abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic School, Papiri, with 88 more captured trying to escape. Ages 10–18. This is the largest school kidnapping in Nigeria’s history — even worse than Chibok.

“This cannot be ignored. COPDEM demands immediate action from the Nigerian government and security forces. Every child matters. Every life matters.

“We call on every Nigerian:
Raise your voice.
Demand accountability.
Protect our schools and children.

“Silence is not an option. Share this. Speak out. Act now. The future of Nigeria’s children is at stake.”
