In a classical display of corruption fighting back, the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on Tuesday, filed fraud charges against a serving senator, Isah Hamman Misau.

Senator Misau represents Bauchi State Central Senatorial District.

The charges against Misau comes weeks after he accused the IGP Idris of fraud and sexual misconduct.

The controversy arose after the Senator accused the IGP of collecting bribes from some officers before they were promoted.

He also accused him of sleeping with a junior woman officer whom he impregnated secretly when he discovered the 4-month pregnancy.

However, Elombah.com gathered that the Senator is yet to be served because the case is not assigned to any court yet.

Observers, meanwhile, have faulted the legal action against him bearing in mind that the Police Service Commission [PSC] has laid to rest controversy surrounding his retirement letter.

After IGP Idris alleged that the Senator was a deserter and that his retirement letter from the Force was forged PSC had waded into the matter.

The Police Service Commission said that the letter was not forged and that the Senator’s retirement from the Force followed due process.

The Commission also said it issued the letter to the Senator.
