Corruption: Senate Set To Trace Vanished Billions In TETFund

The Senate, Wednesday, passed a Motion to investigate contracts that have been awarded and paid for by the TETFund that haven't yet been executed.

The Senate has, on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, resolved to unearth massive corruption in the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

It was alleged that billions unaccounted for in the name of contracts exchanged hands with no evidential structure to show for them.

To that effect, the legislative body passed a Motion to investigate contracts that have been awarded and paid for by the TETFund that haven’t yet been executed.

Sen. Jibrin Barau raised a motion on the need for an investigative audit in respect of contracts that were awarded and paid for in the past by TETFund.

Commenting on the motion, Senator Shehu Sani‏ said contractors collected money from TETFund over the years and absconded while the education sector suffers.

The motion on the floor today mandated a committee to act and retrieve the vanished billions.
