Court Sacks APC Rep-Elect, Orders INEC To Reconise PDP’s Candidate

A Federal High Court in Yola, Adamwa State, has on Wednesday nullified the election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate to represent Yola-North, Yola-South and Girei federal constituency in the state.

The presiding judge, Justice Abdulaziz Anka directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the Certificate of Return given to Abdulra’uf Modibbo.

Justice Anka ordered that same be issued to the runners-up in the election, Jafar Ribadu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The judge ruled that the APC primary elections that produced Modibbo was inconclusive, hence not worthy to be recognised.
