A former friendship between Nigerian socialites Dabota Lawson and Adeola Diadem has erupted into a public dispute, with both women trading serious allegations and revealing private details about their past relationship.
Dabota and Diadem were reportedly once very close and at one point appeared together on a reality television show. However, their friendship eventually broke down, and the latest exchange has brought their differences back into the public eye.
The drama began after blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus published a post alleging that Diadem was jealous of Dabota and envious of her moves and achievements.
The claim reportedly angered Diadem, who took to Snapchat to reject the allegation, insisting that she had never been jealous of anyone.
Diadem then made her own claims about her former friend. She alleged that Dabota once sent her ₦5 million as a birthday gift but later asked her to return the money after Diadem posted about it publicly.
She also accused Dabota of allegedly sharing information about former friends with bloggers after their relationships ended. Diadem specifically mentioned a story involving Sophia Momodu and a boat, while asking Dabota to keep her name out of future discussions.
Dabota subsequently responded with a series of allegations of her own.
The businesswoman claimed that Diadem initially approached her as a fan and later became close to her in order to gain access to her network.
Dabota also alleged that Diadem was envious of her success and claimed that she had previously asked her to invite wealthy men to her parties.
According to Dabota, Diadem also allegedly asked to see her money so that people would believe she was financially successful.
The dispute then took a more personal turn when Dabota brought up Diadem’s alleged relationship with Churchill.
Dabota claimed that Diadem and Churchill had visited a club together in Abuja and allegedly displayed affection publicly. She further claimed that she helped process visas for the pair to travel to Bali and said she had evidence to support her account.
Dabota also alleged that she had previously warned Diadem against attending Churchill’s son’s birthday because, according to her claim, Diadem was romantically involved with Churchill while maintaining a friendship with his former wife.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and the people mentioned in the claims have not all publicly responded to the accusations.
Dabota also addressed Diadem’s allegation concerning the ₦5 million birthday gift. She disputed the account, claiming that she sprayed Diadem with more than ₦5 million at her birthday celebration and even helped invite people to spray money on her.
On the Sophia Momodu controversy, Dabota said she had directly confronted Sophia about whatever information was eventually published, suggesting that she did not need to rely on bloggers to communicate with her.
She further accused Diadem of being jealous of several financial opportunities she had received but that Diadem allegedly could not secure herself.
Dabota also referenced a difficult period in Diadem’s life, claiming that she supported her after she became pregnant in November and was there for her during that period.
The former friends have now left the public with competing versions of what caused their relationship to collapse.
Dabota ended her response by insisting that Diadem was jealous of her and challenged her former friend to explain publicly what she believed Dabota had done to her.
The unfolding dispute has generated significant reactions online, with social media users debating the allegations while others have urged both women to resolve their differences privately.
For now, the situation remains a series of competing claims from the two former friends, with several of the most serious allegations yet to be independently established.
