Afrobeats star Davido has reportedly submitted his sixth studio album, Oriade, and several songs for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards as he continues his pursuit of the prestigious music honour.
The development was reported by Nigerian media on Tuesday, October 13, following a disclosure by Grammy Guru on its X account. The reported entries span several categories, including Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.
According to the reports, Oriade was submitted for consideration in the Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical) and Best Album Cover categories.
Davido’s song “B4 B4”, featuring Mayorkun and FOLA, was reportedly entered in the Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance categories.
His collaboration “Nakupenda”, featuring TxC, Zlatan, Shoday, Scotts Maphuma and Al Xapo, was also submitted for consideration in the Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance categories.
Another track, “Le Show”, featuring Ayra Starr and French Montana, was reportedly entered for Best African Music Performance, while “I Know Who I Be”, featuring JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay, was submitted for Best Music Video.
The submissions come as the Recording Academy’s voting process for the 69th Grammy Awards gets underway. The first round of voting is scheduled to run from October 12 to October 22, 2026, with nominees expected to be announced on November 16.
The awards ceremony will take place on February 7, 2027, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
However, submitting music for consideration does not automatically guarantee a nomination. Entries must undergo eligibility checks and screening before the Recording Academy’s voting process determines the official nominees.
Davido previously received Grammy nominations for his album Timeless and songs including “Unavailable” and “Feel” at the 2024 awards. He also earned recognition for “Sensational”, featuring Chris Brown and Lojay, and “With You”, featuring Omah Lay, in subsequent Grammy cycles.
The latest reported submissions represent another attempt by the Nigerian singer to secure a Grammy win and further strengthen Afrobeats’ presence on the international music scene.
With the nomination announcement approaching, attention will turn to whether any of Davido’s entries make the official shortlist for the 2027 ceremony.
