(DDM) – Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has reportedly unfollowed media personality Dele Momodu on Instagram.
The development comes just hours after Momodu publicly spoke about ongoing efforts to resolve the dispute between the singer and his niece, Sophia Momodu. A check of Davido’s verified Instagram page on Wednesday indicated that Momodu’s account was no longer listed among the accounts he follows.
The move has generated reactions across social media platforms, particularly because it followed Momodu’s remarks regarding the strained relationship between Davido and Sophia over their daughter, Imade Adeleke.
According to Momodu, he received appeals from fans during a recent visit to Liberia, urging him to intervene and help settle the rift between the former partners. He stated that steps were being taken privately to reach a peaceful resolution and called on supporters to continue praying for the family.
Davido and Sophia have had a long-running disagreement concerning the custody and upbringing of their daughter. The matter had previously gone before a court, although the singer later withdrew the case. Despite this, tensions between the parties have continued to draw public attention.
The reported Instagram unfollowing has fueled speculation about the current state of relations between Davido and Momodu, though neither party has issued an official statement addressing the action.
In a related entertainment development, Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has responded to critics regarding comments about the past marriage of her colleague Tonto Dikeh and her own relationship with Olakunle Churchill. The actors’ past marital issues have also remained a subject of public discussion in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
As online reactions continue, observers note that social media activity among celebrities often becomes a focal point for public interpretation, even in the absence of direct confirmation or detailed explanations from those involved.
