(DDM) — The Delta South chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on all patriotic Nigerians to support the party as a credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), citing widespread failures in governance and leadership under the current administration.
Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the ADC described the APC-led government as having failed to fulfill the promises that secured its election, leaving millions of Nigerians grappling with worsening economic conditions, insecurity, massive youth unemployment, a deteriorating educational system, and a rapidly weakening national currency.
The statement emphasized that ordinary citizens have borne the brunt of a government more focused on political elites than the welfare of the populace.
“The APC government has failed to provide the necessary leadership to lift Nigerians out of poverty and despair. Instead, we witness an ever-widening gap between the rich and the poor, rising costs of living, and policies disconnected from the daily realities of citizens,” the ADC said.
ADC highlighted the growing insecurity in many regions, noting that the rise in kidnappings, armed banditry, and communal clashes reflects a government unable to protect lives and property.
The statement also pointed to declining public infrastructure, frequent electricity shortages, and poor healthcare delivery as signs of systemic governance failure.
Against this backdrop, the ADC presented itself as a party offering a fresh, inclusive, and people-centered alternative.
It urged Nigerians to embrace leadership grounded in integrity and transparency, with practical policies to revive the economy, empower youths, and strengthen social welfare systems.
The party also underscored the importance of national unity, promising to foster cohesion across ethnic and religious lines and to ensure that government policies benefit all Nigerians equally.
“We envision a nation where merit and fairness guide governance, and where citizens’ voices are not only heard but respected,” the statement read.
ADC further stressed that its agenda prioritizes the empowerment of young people through skills development, entrepreneurship initiatives, and job creation programs aimed at tackling unemployment.
The party pledged to restore trust in governance by ensuring accountability, curbing corruption, and improving public service delivery.
The Delta South chapter concluded by appealing to Nigerians not to repeat the mistakes of the past. “It is time to give a fresh, competent, and compassionate alternative a chance,” the statement said. “Support ADC, support progress, prosperity, and national restoration.”
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) reaffirmed its commitment to being a party for the people, vowing to rebuild Nigeria from the grassroots to the top, and to ensure that citizens’ welfare remains at the heart of national policy-making.
