The region known as Delta State is located in the southern part of Nigeria.

Its landscapes are varied, featuring lush greenlands, riverine areas, and the intricate waterways of the Niger Delta, making it a place of both ecological and economic importance in the country.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, the new initiative allows students to earn both the Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) and a Bachelor’s degree simultaneously.

The groundbreaking policy is aimed at expanding educational access, improving teacher quality, and modernizing academic training for educators across the state.

According to education officials, the dual-certification system will significantly reduce the time and cost of obtaining higher qualifications, while also aligning teacher education with global standards.

“This is not just about degrees; it’s about creating competent, inspired, and well-equipped teachers who can drive progress,” an official from the Ministry of Higher Education told DDM.

The programme is expected to attract more young people into the teaching profession, offering them a clearer path to professional advancement and better career prospects.

Analysts say the move will enhance teacher motivation, bridge academic gaps, and foster innovation within the state’s education system.
