Dickson to Atiku, El-Rufai, Amaechi: “You betrayed Jonathan, now Nigerians must beware”

Former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has issued a scathing warning to leaders of a new political coalition.

He reminded them of the 2015 ousting of former President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP through a similar alliance, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathers.

“You conspired, removed Jonathan, yet nothing changed, shine your eyes,” Dickson said while addressing the coalition’s formation.

He questioned whether Nigeria’s situation had improved since Jonathan’s removal, challenging the effectiveness of past political transitions.

The coalition, which includes Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, and Nasir El-Rufai, aims to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Dickson’s warning was direct, calling on these leaders to reflect on past actions and avoid repeating old mistakes.

He stressed that Nigeria’s major issues, economic hardship, insecurity, and weak institutions, still persist years after the PDP’s fall.

According to Dickson, changing leadership without addressing core national problems only worsens public disillusionment and democratic fatigue.

In his words, leadership must be about impact, not just about acquiring political power or winning elections.

Many Nigerians are cautiously observing, wondering whether this new alliance can offer real solutions to national challenges.

Dickson cautioned them to prioritize national interest over personal ambition and not deceive citizens with false hopes again.

He warned that history would not be kind to leaders who exploit public frustration for selfish political gain.

The coalition’s credibility, he said, depends on its ability to bring true reform, not just campaign promises.

He urged them to present a clear, actionable roadmap for governance, not another round of empty rhetoric.

According to Dickson, the problems Nigeria faces require courage, vision, and sincere commitment, not just political realignments.

He said the same recycled figures now forming the coalition had once played roles in the failures of governance.

Political analysts say Dickson’s remarks reflect widespread public skepticism about elite political maneuvering.

His warning also signals a growing demand for genuine leadership, beyond party labels and recycled slogans.

The coalition’s next moves will be under intense scrutiny as Nigerians prepare for the 2027 general elections.
