Dino Melaye: ADC Will Free Nigerians From Hunger, Insecurity
DDM News

Former Senator Dino Melaye has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is the political alternative Nigerians need to escape widespread hunger and insecurity.
Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that Melaye made the statement shortly after leaving the Kafas Multi-purpose Hall in Lokongoma, Lokoja, where the unveiling of ADC’s Kogi State chapter was suspended in honour of late President Muhammadu Buhari.
Melaye, who represented Kogi West in the National Assembly from 2015 to 2019, told journalists that the overwhelming turnout at the aborted rally showed Nigerians are seeking genuine change.
He said the citizens are tired of what he described as “an incompetent government” and are now looking to the ADC as a credible rescue platform.
“Nigerians are tired of managing an incompetent government,” Melaye said.
“They are tired of excuses over insecurity. It is time to kill hunger and insecurity before they kill us.”
He further claimed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed to deliver on its promises, and the masses are now aligning with the ADC in preparation for a political shift.
“Even the handwriting on the wall is clear to the blind. The days of APC in political governance are over,” he said.
“The party to liberate Nigerians is here, ADC is the answer.”
Also speaking, former Kogi State governor and 2015 PDP governorship candidate, Engineer Idris Wada, announced his official defection to the ADC.
He pledged to mobilize support across Kogi State to grow the coalition into a mass movement.
Comrade Austin Okai, a former PDP House of Representatives candidate in the 2023 elections, echoed similar sentiments.
He described the ADC as “a party of the people,” calling on Nigerians to heed the party’s slogan, “Arise,” and join the movement for true liberation from poverty.
Former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Simon Achuba, also weighed in.
He said the Tinubu administration had further disappointed Nigerians within just two years, prompting the urgent need for a viable opposition force.
He urged citizens to remain patient as a political realignment was underway.
According to Achuba, “Nigerians are already craving for an alternative, and that is the reason for this coalition. The true change is here.”
The suspended unveiling ceremony is expected to be rescheduled after the national period of mourning.
