Dino Melaye Chants, “ADC Don Come, APC Comot for Road,” Against Tinubu’s Party
DDM News

Senator Dino Melaye electrified a gathering in Abuja with a bold chant declaring the rise of a new political alliance and the decline of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a dramatic moment at the unveiling of the new opposition coalition, Melaye chanted, “APC comot for road, ADC don come!” — a slogan that instantly ignited applause and cheers from the crowd.
The high-profile event, held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, marked the official recognition of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the platform for an emerging opposition front gearing up for the 2027 general elections.
Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that the coalition is positioning itself as a credible alternative to the APC-led federal government, which has faced growing criticism over the economy and insecurity.
During the event, former Senate President David Mark was announced as the interim chairman of the coalition, with former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola named interim secretary.
The ADC will temporarily serve as the movement’s base, pending the formal registration of a new political party named the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).
Political heavyweights were present, signaling serious intent and coordination.
Among the attendees were former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Anambra Governor Peter Obi, former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi, and media mogul Dele Momodu.
This gathering of seasoned politicians underscores a united effort by various opposition blocs to unseat APC from power in the 2027 elections.
Senator Melaye’s chant captured the mood of the event and symbolized a call to action for opposition supporters.
The slogan, delivered with confidence and showmanship, was greeted with loud ovation and chants of support.
However, the emergence of the coalition has not come without internal dissent.
A faction within the ADC has rejected the adoption of the party as the coalition’s anchor, citing a lack of proper consultation and due process.
Despite the internal resistance, the broader political message remains strong.
The opposition is determined to present a formidable and unified front as an alternative to what they describe as a failing APC government.
Rising inflation, food insecurity, widespread poverty, and youth unemployment have become central issues around which this new political movement is mobilizing.
With influential figures like Atiku, Obi, and Amaechi on one platform, the opposition appears more aligned than in previous election cycles.
Meanwhile, preparations for the formation of the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) suggest that the coalition is aiming for long-term sustainability and structure, not just a temporary electoral alliance.
Political observers say the presence of such a diverse group of political veterans could pose a real challenge to the APC, especially if internal differences are managed effectively.
As 2027 approaches, the political landscape in Nigeria is heating up, and the chant led by Dino Melaye may very well become a rallying cry for those seeking a new direction for the country.
