INEC disclosed that the process of recalling the Kogi West District senator in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye may cost it about one billion Naira.

The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] has disclosed that the process of recalling the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye may cost it about one billion Naira.

The electoral body also said that verification alone might cost about 300 million and that the said verification is only 1 of 3 stages to be followed.

It could be recalled that INEC, on Monday, July 3, had released the timetable and schedule of activities for the recall of Senator Dino Melaye.

Meanwhile, the National Democracy Watch & Advocacy Group has thrown its weight behind Senator Melaye over the moves to recall him from Senate.

In the statement titled “The Futility Of Dino Melaye’s Recall”, the group said that Senator Melaye is being haunted because of his “consistent insistence not to join Yahaya Bello in impoverishing his state of Kogi.”
