Dominik Szoboszlai Injury Latest as Liverpool Get Double Boost for Arsenal Clash

LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND — Liverpool could receive a double injury boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Arsenal. Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz are both in contention to return.

The Reds welcome Arsenal to Anfield on Sunday, November 1. Manager Andoni Iraola is hopeful that the two players can make themselves available after missing Liverpool’s last two matches.

Szoboszlai’s Injury

Szoboszlai has been struggling with a hamstring injury. He sustained it after returning from international duty.

The Hungary international missed games against Manchester City and LASK. He made his return against Brentford earlier this month.

However, his comeback was short-lived. He was forced off shortly after the half-hour mark, resulting in another spell on the sidelines.

The midfielder has scored three goals in eight appearances this season. He will be a welcome addition if he recovers in time to face Arsenal.

Iraola is optimistic about his chances of featuring. Another training session is expected to provide a clearer indication of his fitness.

Munoz’s Return

Liverpool could also welcome Munoz back. He missed the last two games because of a knee problem.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Iraola confirmed that both players have a chance of being involved. But he admitted that their availability would depend on their recovery over the coming days.

“I think they have a chance, but I do not know if they will be involved or not, but we still have two days. I think they have a chance, yes,” he said.

Other Injury Concerns

Despite the potential returns, Liverpool still have several injury concerns ahead of the encounter.

Jeremie Frimpong remains unavailable. Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni, and Hugo Ekitike are also continuing their respective recoveries.

Match Context

Liverpool head into the match looking to extend their five-match winning run in all competitions. A victory over Arsenal at Anfield would move them to within three points of the Gunners in the Premier League standings.

However, Iraola insisted that his priority is improving the team’s performances. He said he is not distracted by the league table.

What This Means

The potential return of Szoboszlai and Munoz is a significant boost for Liverpool. Both players are important members of the squad.

Their availability would give Iraola more options for the crucial clash against Arsenal.

What Happens Next

Liverpool will assess both players in training. A final decision will be made before the match.

For now, the focus is on the game. The Reds are determined to secure a positive result.
