EFCC arrests 35 suspected internet fraudsters in Edo State

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recently arrested 35 alleged internet fraudsters in Auchi, Edo State.

Notably, the operation targeted key locations, including Vigilante Street, Sabo Ibenafo Road, and the Back of Yak neighborhood.

Acting on credible intelligence, the EFCC executed the raid to combat rising cybercrime in the region.

Moreover, the agency reaffirmed its commitment to prosecuting offenders and dismantling fraudulent networks. During the operation, authorities seized nine cars, eleven laptops, 46 phones, and two smartwatches. Investigators confirmed these items allegedly supported the suspects’ illegal activities. Presently, the suspects remain in custody as interrogations continue.

Once investigations conclude, the EFCC will formally charge the suspects in court. The commission also emphasized its determination to eradicate financial crimes nationwide.
