EFCC Launches Probe Of Former Nigerian Governor Over Multi-Billion Naira Fraud Allegation

Published

on

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched a comprehensive investigation into allegations of fraud totaling N423 billion involving former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and other key officials of his administration.

According to sources close to the investigation, the EFCC team will probe El-Rufai and his officials for allegedly mismanaging state funds, awarding contracts without due process, and obtaining loans without proper authorization.

The investigation follows a report by the Kaduna State House of Assembly’s Ad-Hoc Committee, which uncovered various irregularities and fraudulent activities during El-Rufai’s tenure from 2015 to 2023.

The EFCC team will review the report and gather evidence to support the allegations, with El-Rufai and other officials expected to be questioned soon.
