Businesswoman Ehi Ogbebor has opened up about the doubts she experienced in her marriage, revealing that she questioned her decision to marry just three days after her wedding.
Speaking on the WithChude podcast, Ehi said she approached her husband shortly after the wedding and told him she no longer believed she wanted to remain married to him.
According to her, the feeling came suddenly, describing it as though something had been cleared from her eyes.
She recalled telling him, “Sorry, sorry, I don’t think I want to marry you. I swear to God.”
Ehi said she could not explain what triggered the sudden change in her feelings. She noted that some people suggested that she might have been under an enchantment or affected by “juju,” but she said she does not believe in such explanations.
The businesswoman described the marriage as an “unsure marriage” from her side and said her doubts were compounded by what she described as her husband’s controlling behaviour.
She revealed that she left the marriage several times, including during her pregnancy, and returned to her parents’ home because she did not feel safe.
According to Ehi, her husband repeatedly returned to plead with her, while members of her family also encouraged her to return to the marriage.
She further recalled an unusual situation surrounding the couple’s life in Edo State, claiming that her husband instructed her to make her family believe she was living abroad.
“He would tell me, like, ‘Let your family take it that you live abroad,’” she recounted.
Ehi’s account sheds light on the uncertainty and personal struggles she says she experienced during the marriage, while highlighting the pressure she faced from both her husband and family to remain in the relationship.
