Ekiti Approves Multibillion Projects for State Development

The Ekiti State Executive Council convened on December 17, 2024, approving multibillion-naira projects to improve infrastructure.

These initiatives demonstrate Governor Abiodun Oyebanji’s government’s commitment to transforming Ekiti into a hub for economic growth.

Among the approved projects is the 2025 Ekiti State Annual Business Enabling Reforms Action Plan (BERAP).

This plan seeks to enhance the state’s business environment and attract investments, fostering economic progress.

Furthermore, the council allocated N1.7 billion for constructing the Ekiti State Revenue House to improve revenue collection.

In road infrastructure, the council approved N1.47 billion for constructing the road from Bovas Filling Station to Spotless Hotel.

Additionally, the council allocated N2.08 billion for further rehabilitation works on the Hospitals Management Board/Doctor’s Quarters Road Extension.

The State Executive Council also approved another major investment of N4.62 billion to rehabilitate the Oke Ayedun-Ipao-Oke Ako-Irele Road.

To improve energy supply, the council approved N61 million for extending the Independent Power Plant (IPP) Network to BSES.

In another significant move, the government earmarked N2.99 billion to construct 110 facilities in selected schools and health centers.

Additionally, N316 million was allocated to purchase 110 solar water pumps for these facilities.

The council also emphasized youth and women’s empowerment, approving N1 billion to enhance the Youth and Women Empowerment Microcredit Programme.

Additionally, the Government House allocated N222 million to replace old furniture in guest chalets and residential lodges.

On the agricultural front, the council approved N500 million for implementing the Framework for Responsible and Inclusive Land Intensive Investment in Agriculture (FRILIA).

Furthermore, the government set aside N345 million to build and archive digital records of land title documents.

Lastly, the council approved N1 billion for the first drawdown of the N5 billion EKSG/BOI Fund.

These approvals highlight the Ekiti State government’s determination to foster significant economic development and infrastructure improvements across the state.
