Ekiti Court imposes life sentence on young Rapist

In a significant ruling, Justice Lekan Ogunmoye of the Ekiti State High Court sentenced 25-year-old Fajana Olajide to life imprisonment for raping a 17-year-old girl.

The accused faced charges on January 18, 2024, for his crime.

During the proceedings, the victim, a student and apprentice, courageously shared her traumatic experience, highlighting the severity of the incident.

She testified that Olajide confronted her while she was heading to work in Ikere Ekiti.

He deceitfully suggested she was under a family curse, manipulating her into following him to his home, where the assault occurred.

This verdict acts as a powerful warning to would-be offenders, reinforcing the judiciary’s resolve to combat sexual violence and safeguard victims’ rights.
