Ekiti: NSCDC deploys 1,000 Officers to ensure easter safety

Ekiti State, Nigeria – April 18, 2025 –To ensure safety during the Easter celebrations, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ekiti State has deployed 1,000 officers across the state.

This proactive initiative, announced by State Commandant Mr. Toma Matthew Enya, aims to maintain law and order as residents participate in various religious and recreational activities throughout the holiday.

Additionally, authorities will strategically position personnel at various places of worship, popular relaxation centers, and known security hotspots for enhanced safety.

Furthermore, this approach aims to ensure public safety and deter potential threats during events and gatherings in these locations.

By doing so, they aim to enhance safety and provide immediate assistance in these critical areas for the community.

Additionally, this comprehensive deployment includes specialized units such as the Counter Terrorism Unit, Armed Squad Unit, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives Unit.

These units stand fully prepared to address any potential threats effectively. Consequently, they are ready for the upcoming celebrations.

In addition, Commandant Enya emphasized the Corps’ unwavering commitment to ensuring public and private infrastructure remains safe and secure.

Moreover, he assured residents that the NSCDC will respond promptly and efficiently to any distress calls received during this period.

For instance, Anambra State has reported the deployment of 1,525 personnel to enhance security during the Easter festivities.
