Enugu APC Rejects False Claims Of Mass Resignations

Share this:

ENUGU STATE – The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has firmly rejected reports alleging mass resignations within its ranks, insisting that no such wave of defections has occurred. Party officials described the claims as misleading, politically motivated, and designed to create a false impression of internal collapse. They maintained that the party remains structurally stable across wards and local government areas in the state, despite growing speculation on social media platforms.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the controversy emerged after viral online posts suggested that several members had abandoned the party due to unresolved internal disputes. However, APC leaders in the state moved quickly to dismiss the reports, saying they do not reflect the current reality on the ground. They insisted that the party continues to function with active leadership at all levels and that no coordinated resignation has been recorded from any recognized structure within the party.

The All Progressives Congress in Enugu State emphasized that internal political disagreements should not be misinterpreted as organizational breakdown. Party stakeholders explained that like any major political platform, occasional disagreements occur but do not translate into structural disintegration. They said the current narrative being circulated was exaggerated and intended to distract from ongoing political engagements within the state.

Party spokespersons also pointed to what they described as deliberate misinformation campaigns aimed at weakening public confidence in the APC ahead of future political activities. They argued that opposition actors and online commentators often amplify unverified claims during politically sensitive periods. According to them, the intention behind such reports is to project instability where none exists and to influence public perception ahead of strategic political realignments.

Political analysts in Enugu have noted that the state remains a highly competitive political environment, where both ruling and opposition parties frequently engage in information battles. They explained that claims of defection or crisis often surface during periods of political repositioning, especially as parties prepare for future elections. However, analysts caution that such reports require careful verification before being accepted as fact.

The APC leadership in Enugu further stressed that its grassroots structures remain intact and active, with ward executives and local coordinators continuing their mobilization efforts. They reaffirmed that ongoing internal reconciliation processes are strengthening unity rather than weakening it. Party officials also encouraged members to remain focused and avoid distractions caused by unverified online narratives.
