Enyeama goes back to Super Eagles’ camp in Belgium

Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama headed back to the Super Eagles’ training camp in Belgium on Saturday to meet with top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation over a major row with Sunday Oliseh.

According to africanFootball.com, Enyeama left the Eagles’ camp for  his  France base on Thursday after Oliseh announced CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa as the team’s new skipper.

The NFF president Amaju Pinnick and as his two vice-presidents – Seyi Akinwunmi and Shehu Dikko, are all in Belgium for the friendlies against Congo DR and Cameroon.

Enyeama, who has been Nigerian International Goalkeeper and skipper since Joseph Yobo retired from international football, has already announced his retirement from international football.

Enyeama made the pronouncement after he was relieved as the captain of the team and was replaced with CSKA Moscow forward, Ahmed Musa. 

It was learnt that Skipper Vincent Enyeama buried his mum last week and tried making it to camp on Monday and was late, hence, was axed by the Super Eagles’ Coach, Sunday Oliseh.

It could be recalled that a similar imbroglio that broiled between Enyeama and former Eagles’ coach, Samson Siasia relatively cost the later his job.

Enyeama, who has played for 13 years with the Super Eagles, with 101 caps to his credit, felt that he deserves a better treatment that he was getting from the new Eagles Coach.

Oliseh, in defence of his decision to replace Enyeama with Ahmed Musa, said that the man who takes over as captain of Eagles have all the qualities of a good captain.
