Some members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) of the proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), are plotting to regroup in Amaekpu Ohafia in Ohafia local government area of Abia state after they were dislodged from Amangwu Ohafia by troops of 82 Division, a credible source told News Band.

Nigerian troops have been conducting a special operation in Ohafia after a soldier named Staff Sergeant Bassey Ikunugwan, who was officially on leave pass, was abducted in Okwu-Ebem Ohafia road by the rogue group.

Though, before the abduction of the soldier, Amangwu Ohafia was under siege by the gunmen. The armed group was responsible for several attacks in the community which resulted to the unfortunate death of innocent civilians and destruction of properties.

A source told News Band that the terrorist group is currently planning to regroup in Amaekpu Ohafia in the home of their member named DADA. Some of them who also escaped with bullet wounds during exchange of gunfire with troops are also receiving medical attention from the hideout.

Meanwhile, George Ulu, aka Uchechi, the self-styled commander of ESN who has been behind the unrest in Ohafia is hiding in the boundary between Amangwu and Amaekpu Ohafia with few of his men.

However, General Onyema Nwachukwu in a statement yesterday, vowed that the Nigerian troops will neutralize the outlawed group who have caused hardship and pain to the people all in the name of Biafra agitation.
