Evangelist Niyi Pirisola has been gunned down by unknown assailants. 

He was said to be coming home from church night vigil when the assassins trailed him to his house and killed him.

The incident happened around 2am in the early hours, the killers trailed him to his house at Ilutuntun area of the council, where they laid ambush. 

As he was about to open the gate to his house, they pounce on him and gunned him down.

They shot him severally, according to VANGUARD.

He was rushed to the hospital immediately where he later died of several gun injuries.

 Evangelist Niyi Pirisola was a former chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his local government area, of the state, until his death.

Police spokesman, Femi Joseph confirmed the incident, adding that, his command has started investigation into the killing. 

He said, “The deceased was coming from church and the assailants attacked him and killed him.

“We have commenced investigation in to the matter, and can assure you the killers will be brought to book”.

The Ondo chapter of PDP, has expressed shock over the death of Evangelist Niyi Pirisola, describing it as inhuman. 

Publicity Secretary of the party, Banji Okunomo in a statement called on all security agencies in the state to try and bring the killers of Niyi Pirisola to book.

“The PDP cautions anything that could heat up the polity and impede the transition process that is being prepared for in our dear sunshine state”. 

The publicity secretary urged the security agents to do all things necessary, to see that they protect lives and properties of the people of Ondo State.

“We must not allow hoodlums to tamper with this track record or dent our image in any way”, he said
