Ex-Ohaneze Ndigbo president in Spain hails Abia governor’s strides

The former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Spanish Chapter, and a Philanthropist, Chief Ugochukwu John Nduwuisi, has commended the current Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, for his superlative performance in office.
In a recent interview monitored by Diaspora Digital Media, Chief Nduwuisi described Dr. Otti as a pragmatic leader, a God-sent figure destined to rescue Abia State from stagnation and transform its trajectory.
The Abia indigene emphasized the importance of recognizing the governor’s leadership strides, particularly in the area of infrastructural development.
He described Otti’s performance as “unmatched” among past governors, and expressed gratitude to God for blessing Abia State with a selfless leader who truly understands and addresses the needs of the people.
Highlighting the Governor’s achievements, Chief Nduwuisi pointed out that Dr. Alex has brought smiles to the faces of Abians both within the state and in the diaspora through his exceptional performance.
Citing some specific accomplishments, the philanthropist lauded the Governor for his efforts since being sworn in as the fifth democratically elected Governor of Abia State on 29 May 2023, following his victory at the polls on the March 18, 2023 elections.
He therefore postulated that, Dr. Alex has proven beyond expectations that the electorate made the right choice.
“As a caring governor who believes good roads are crucial for a thriving economy, you have reconstructed and rehabilitated 90 roads through the Ministry of Works using direct labor.
“You have also repaired the dilapidated Ariaria International Market Abians are grateful,” he said.
Chilso commended the Governor’s attention to civil servants, who had long been unpaid under previous administrations.
“You have paid civil servants who had gone years without their salaries, and you instituted a policy ensuring that they and pensioners receive their wages before the 28th of each month,” he remarked.
On healthcare, Chief Nduwuisi expressed optimism regarding the renovation of 15 general hospitals across the state, underscoring the Governor’s commitment to improving access to essential healthcare services.
Additionally, he lauded the passionate governor for supporting businesses amidst the economic challenges facing Nigeria.
“He has launched the disbursement of a N1 billion interest-free loan under the Cooperative Support Scheme to nano and micro-business operators across the state’s 184 electoral wards, which will boost the their businesses” he noted.
Recognizing the strain caused by rising commodity prices, Ugochukwu highlighted the Governor’s initiative to disburse N900 million in interest-free agricultural empowerment loans to 298 Abia farmers trained at the CSS farm in Nasarawa State.
This initiative is geared towards achieving food sufficiency in Abia State.

The Philanthropist also commended the Governor’s proactive measures to ensure security in the state, which he said has made Abia a safer place for economic development.
“You have taken security seriously, preventing the incessant killing of innocent people and protecting property,” he stated.
He also acknowledged the Governor’s efforts in education, noting that plans are in place to train 2,000 master trainers for teachers in the state.
“The deployment of security personnel to schools will also ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school property,” he added.
Chief Ugochukwu concluded by urging Abians to embrace peaceful coexistence and to refrain from acts of violence and property destruction that could distract the Governor from his goal of elevating Abia State to greater heights.
