Investigation by Diaspora Digital Media has revealed how two jealous drug addicts, raped and strangled Rivers State based lady to death.
The victim, known as Success Ugo Anosike, who is from Umuahia South in Abia State, was a dedicated member of Methodist Church of Nigeria in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Before her death, Anosike, who is an orphan, was managing a small business that deals on chemicals used in manufacturing of pipes and other industrial materials.
In the cause of this investigation, friends and family members, described Success Anosike as a calm and soft-spoken woman that stayed away from trouble.
How Trouble Started For Success Ugo Anosike.
A family source who spoke exclusively with Diaspora Digital Media, revealed that trouble started in March, 2025 after Success called to inform him that she was sexually harassed by a male neighbour.
The source said Success told him that while she was sleeping, the young man sneaked into her apartment, wake her up and started demanding for sex.
She confided to the family source that the sexual predator confessed being on hard drugs, which he said, stirred his sexual urge. But luckily for her that day, she started screaming for help, which prompted the sexual pervert to run away from her apartment.
Speaking to DDM, the source said: “Success called me in March of this year, telling me how a male neighbour sneaked into her apartment while she was sleeping and started demanding for sex. The suspect told Success that he took some hard drugs that triggered his sexual urge and he needed someone to quench it. It was at this point that she started screaming for help. Her shout for help, forced the sexual predator to flee from her apartment.
“After the suspect left her apartment, he later approached Success and started apologizing, begging her not to tell anyone what happened the night he sneaked into her apartment”.
Meanwhile, when Diaspora Digital Media asked the family source if the matter was ever reported to the police, he said: “After Success narrated what happened, I pleaded with her to allow me to confront the suspect or report the matter to the police, but she told me not to. I don’t know if she was afraid of her live. I also asked her if she reported the incident to her friends in her work place, she told me yes. I finally told her not to fail to reach out to me in case the harassment persist. Little did I know that the ugly incident continued and she kept it away from me until she was finally killed by the suspect”.
How Success was killed on the 4th of November.
Success Ugo Anosike, according to the family source, was killed on the 4th of November, 2025.
“Some friends I spoke with told me that Success had earlier informed them that she was having a prayer on Monday midnight with the family. I usually call her everyday after closing from work. But that Monday night, I saw her online, so I did not bother much to call her believing that she was ok.
“On Tuesday morning, when I was going to work, I crossed her shop and discovered that it was locked. I was kind of worried because it was quite unusual for her shop to be under lock and key by that time of the day.
“Though, I shrugged it off and continued with my journey. It was later in the evening when I came back from work, I was discussing with some friends in the neighborhood and they asked me if I have heard about the young woman that was raped and killed in her apartment.
“I asked them where, and they immediately pointed at the compound where late Success lives. To my surprise, her name was mentioned as the victim. It was when I became cold. The last time I spoke to her was on Sunday. The both of us went to church together”, the source added.
A male and female suspects masterminded the killing of Success.
Two suspects who masterminded the killing of Success Ugo Anosike, are currently in the police net. They are known drug addicts.
One male suspect (whose name this medium could not independently verify) and one Chioma Demeon, who happens to be the daughter of the man who owns the property where Success lives.
The duo according to the source, were heavily involved in hard drugs.
“During the sexual assault, it was Chioma Demeon, who was her next door neighbour pinned down Success, while the male suspect viciously raped her”, the source revealed.
Success was killed out of jealousy.
The family source told Diaspora Digital Media that Success was killed by the two suspects out of jealousy.
“Yes, she was hated because of her religious belief and moral disposition. Success was a lady that lived a decent life.
“She was not involved in the live of extreme indulgence. Success never looked for trouble. So, these two suspects hated her for it and was looking for every slightest opportunity to attack her”, the source added.
How the two suspects were arrested by Oyigbo area command police.
The source also told this paper that when police from area command in Oyigbo Local Government area, came to evacuate the body of the victim, the male suspect immediately took to his heels, but Chioma Demeon was taken into custody as she could not give any satisfactory explanation about her whereabout when Success was sexually attacked and killed considering the fact that she is the next door neighbour to the victim.
“When police detectives came to evacuate the body of the victim—Success, that was when the male suspect fled but Chioma was arrested by the police.
“Chioma is the next door neighbour to the victim. She could not give satisfactory explanation about her whereabout the night the victim was killed.
“The mother of the male suspect was later arrested. Her arrest forced the suspect to surrender to the police.
“During interrogation, he confessed to the police that he killed the victim after she was raped.
“He said it was Chioma that encouraged him to kill the victim. The suspect told the police that after Success was sexually assaulted, they left but later came back to kill her fearing that she recognised them.
“When they were asked if the victim offended them in any way, they said no.”
The case has been transferred to State CID after Chioma’s family attempted to bail her.
Diaspora Digital Media gathered that the case has been transferred to the State CID after the family members of Chioma attempted to bail her the same day she was arrested.
At the time of filing this report, the police is yet to charge the suspects to court.
