Facebook deletes APC praise singer’s page with 1 million followers for saying there’s no hunger in Nigeria

Dauda Kahutu Rarara, renowned Hausa musician and All Progressives Congress praise singer, have been dealt a devastating blow after his official Facebook page with over 1 million followers was deleted for posting content deemed controversial.

The musician had posted his new song on his Facebook page where he praised President Bola Tinubu’s government against the backdrop of widespread public outcry over the current economic hardship and insecurity in the country.

The song’s lyrics, which claimed there was no hunger or insecurity in the nation, stirred outrage among Facebookers, who accused the praise singer of being insensitive to the plight of Nigerians.

The Facebook page was however reported to Meta, which resulted to its deletion on Sunday.

NewsBand reported that the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests is being organized by angry young Nigerians who are frustrated with the rising cost of living and economic difficulties.

The protest which is slated to start on the 1 of August 2024, is expected to last for 10 days.
