Federal Fire Service Commissions New Fire Station in Zaria

Zaria, Kaduna State—The Federal Fire Service officially commissioned a new fire station in Zaria on February 7, 2025, marking a significant milestone.

This development aims to enhance fire safety and emergency response capabilities throughout the region.

The event underscores the government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property from fire hazards effectively.

The ceremony highlights the government’s commitment to strengthening emergency services and infrastructure for the community.

During the commissioning, the Assistant Controller General of Fire (ACGF) for Zone B, Garba Ahmed Karaye, presided over the event.

He was accompanied by key officials, including Kaduna State Command’s DCF Ayuba Jonah Sule and Zaria Area Command’s ACF Aminu Amadu Kiyawa, which emphasized the event’s significance and importance.

Furthermore, the new fire station is strategically located at Abdulrra’uf Jisambon Zazzau Complex, ensuring optimal coverage for emergency services.

This site was specifically selected by Zaria Local Government Area to improve emergency response efficiency throughout the entire region.

Consequently, the station’s placement aims to serve the community better and improve safety measures effectively.

During the event, the Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad, highlighted the critical role of safety measures, prevention strategies, and preparedness in mitigating disasters.

He expressed gratitude to the Federal Fire Service for its collaboration in bolstering fire safety infrastructure in the area.

“This partnership underscores our commitment to safeguarding lives and property in Zaria. Proactive measures are essential in reducing risks and ensuring a safer community,” he stated.

Speaking on behalf of the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Engr. Jaji O. Abdulganiyu, Garba Ahmed Karaye praised Zaria’s leadership and residents for their foresight in constructing the new fire station.

He assured the community that the Federal Fire Service remains committed to providing effective fire prevention, mitigation, and emergency response services.

Furthermore, Karaye emphasized, “This facility will strengthen our ability to respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies.”

The new fire station is set to greatly enhance emergency response times and support disaster management efforts in Zaria and nearby areas.

Additionally, the Federal Fire Service reaffirmed its dedication to working with local governments and stakeholders nationwide to improve fire safety infrastructure across Nigeria.

Finally, the new fire station demonstrates the importance of proactive governance and inter-agency cooperation in effectively addressing public safety challenges.
