FG Declares Friday, Monday Holidays To Mark Easter

The federal government has declared Friday 14th and Monday 17th as public holidays to mark Easter celebrations.

The Minister of Interior, Lt.- Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, (Rtd) announced the holidays in Abuja on Wednesday.

He enjoined Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to extend the spiritual benefits of Easter, which are love, peace, justice, sacrifice and kindness to their daily living.

Nigerians should imbibe the spirit of the season to contribute to unity and peaceful co-existence.

Dambazau further urged Nigerians to co-operate and join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari in his sustained efforts to build a strong and virile nation.

Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido, the Director Overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, said in a statement that the minister wished all Nigerians a Happy Easter Celebration.
