FG donates 100,000 cashew seeds, 2,000 seedlings to Ethiopia

Nigeria has donated 100,000 cashew seeds and 2,000 cashew seedlings to Ethiopia to support sustainable agricultural development.
Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice-President, disclosed this on Sunday in Addis Abba, the Ethiopian capital city.
Mr Nkwocha explained that the donation, sufficient to cultivate approximately 600 hectares of land, was received by Ethiopia’s Minister of State for Agriculture, Dr Efa Boru.
The initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Agricultural Transformation Agenda and Nigeria’s “Green Revolution Diplomacy” aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties and addressing food security challenges.
The donation follows Ethiopia’s earlier gift of 2,000 Haas avocado seedlings and 2,000 coffee seedlings to Nigeria in June 2025.
The donation coincides with the Vice President’s participation in the 2nd UN Food Systems Summit in Addis Ababa, which aims to build resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems.
