FG Releases List of Shortlisted Candidates for Immigration, Civil Defence

The Federal Government has released the list of shortlisted candidates for recruitment into four major paramilitary agencies — the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), and the Federal Fire Service (FFS).

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) made the announcement on Thursday, October 30, 2025. The notice was signed by the Board’s Secretary, Maj. Gen. Abdulmalik Jibril (Rtd.), who advised applicants to check their names on the official recruitment portal.

According to the statement, all applicants can confirm their shortlisting status and examination details by visiting https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng. The portal opens from October 30, 2025, for candidates to view the date, venue, and time of their Computer-Based Test (CBT).

Jibril warned candidates against falling prey to scammers, stressing that the Board will not communicate through unofficial channels. He urged all applicants to rely strictly on verified updates available only on the CDCFIB website.

He added that the Board’s recruitment process remains transparent and merit-driven, noting that all shortlisted candidates must attend the CBT at their designated centres to qualify for the next phase.

The CDCFIB coordinates recruitment for four key security agencies under its supervision — the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

This recruitment drive aims to strengthen Nigeria’s paramilitary workforce and improve service delivery across the security sector. The agencies have continued to play critical roles in border management, internal security, fire response, and correctional reforms nationwide.

The announcement also comes at a time when the Federal Government is intensifying efforts to curb unemployment and enhance public safety. Thousands of Nigerians applied for the openings earlier this year, and the CBT phase will determine the final selection of qualified candidates.

Jibril encouraged shortlisted applicants to prepare adequately and adhere strictly to all examination rules and guidelines. He further assured the public that the recruitment process would be fair, transparent, and in line with the Board’s established standards.

Applicants who fail to appear for the CBT at their assigned centres will automatically forfeit their chances, according to the notice.
