Five friends missing en route to Uyo wedding

A distressing situation is unfolding as five friends, four males and one female, have gone missing while traveling to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for a wedding.

The group departed from Shimawa, Lagos, yesterday and were expected to arrive in Uyo for the wedding ceremony scheduled for today.

According to their worried relatives, the group last made contact around 10:00 pm yesterday, stating they had arrived in Anambra and were planning to spend the night before continuing their journey.

However, after one of them posted a WhatsApp status wishing his wife a happy birthday at 6:16 am today, all attempts to contact them have been met with failure, with their phones switched off or unresponsive.

“We are extremely worried and need the public’s help to locate our loved ones,” said a family member. “The last time we spoke with them was around 10:00 pm, and after that, one of them posted a WhatsApp status, but since then, nothing. We have tried calling them, but their phones are switched off.”

The family has already reached out to the Anambra Police Command, but so far, there has been no update on the whereabouts of the missing group.

The family is pleading with anyone with information to come forward and assist in locating their loved ones. Pictures of the missing individuals will be shared publicly to aid in the search.

“We kindly appeal to the public to help us find our loved ones. We are counting on everyone’s assistance to ensure their safe return,” the family member added.

The wedding ceremony is scheduled for today, and the family is growing increasingly anxious about the safety of their loved ones.
