The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter, has commiserated with the governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom over the flood incident in the state which has resulted to loss of lives, property and also displaced thousands of civilians.

Peter Obi in a statement said he has informed Samuel Ortom his intention to visit some affected areas in Benue decimated by the flood.

He also revealed plans of discussing with other presidential hopefuls on how to assist affected states ravaged by flooding across Nigeria.

Obi said, “I called on HE Gov. Samuel Ortom to commiserate with him on the ravages of the floods in Benue state resulting in high loss of lives, property and farmlands and massive displacement.

“Informed him of my intent to visit some of the affected areas and discussed how we as presidential candidates can assist affected states. I recalled that in 2012 Benue, Anambra and others were similarly affected and the FGN and Nigerians rallied in support of flood victims, especially the IDPs.”
