*As Senate summons SGF over consistency projects utterance
There is strong indication Senate may issue warrant of arrest on Attorney General of Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami if he fails to appear before its Committee on alleged forgery suit against the leadership of the Senate.
Meanwhile, Senate has summoned Secretary to Government of Federation [SGF], David Lawal Babachir over constituency projects and state of National budget implementation.
Also summoned were:
1. Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, and,
2. Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udo Udoma
Senate had mandated its Committee on Judiciary to invite and explain reason why the forgery charges against leadership of the Senate.
However, at the resumption of two weeks break, the Chairman of the Committee on Judiciary, Senator David Umaru explained to the lawmakers that the AGF was unable to appear before the committee an requested for time for him to appear.
After the Chairman submission, Senate President, Bukola Saraki directed the committee to extend the invitation till the end of this week or apply full scale of constitution on him.
It was gathered that the constitution empowers Senate to issue warrant of arrest on anybody that fails to appear before the lawmakers.
