The Yoruba socio-cultural group, Ìgbìnmó Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá (Yoruba Union), has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration over the escalating insecurity and worsening economic hardship in the country.

In a statement issued on Monday by its Convener, Olusola Badero, and released by the Home Director, Princess Balogun, the Union accused the Tinubu-led government of neglecting its core responsibilities to the people, declaring that “Aso Rock is not his family house.”

The group attributed the rising poverty and increasing number of out-of-school children to harsh economic policies and persistent devaluation of the naira, which have made life unbearable for millions and choked the survival of small-scale businesses.

The Yoruba Union condemned the deteriorating security situation, citing the recent abduction of seven farmers by suspected Fulani gunmen in Ondo State.

They stressed that Nigeria belongs to all of its citizens, not just one individual or group.

The group accused the Tinubu-led government of neglecting its core responsibilities, stating that “Aso Rock is not his family house.” They criticized the government’s approach to governance, saying it has worsened the situation and failed to provide relief to the masses.

The Yoruba Union called on the federal government to take urgent action to address the security situation and economic hardship.

The socio-cultural organization urged President Tinubu to prioritize the welfare of citizens over his 2027 ambition.

Also, the group condemned the government’s economic policies, saying they have crippled businesses and sent many to their early graves.

They also criticized the government’s handling of insecurity, particularly the infiltration of Kwara South by suspected Fulani gunmen.

The Yoruba Union demanded that President Tinubu forget about his 2027 ambition, stating that his track record has proven him incapable of managing the affairs of Nigeria.
