Former Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, Justice Kate Abiri is dead. She reportedly died on Thursday morning.
Her death was confirmed in a brief statement made by the the Yenagoa branch chairman of Aleibiri Federated Community, Bibobra Kitchen.
Though, the statement did not reveal the cause of death of the legal luminary but four days of mourning was declared in her local government.
Bibobra said, “She died this morning 3rd Thursday August, 2023. As usual, the 4 days mourning/gathering commences today being Thursday 3rd @ her compound”.
Justice Abiri retired from the Bayelsa State Civil Service on January 13 after serving as chief judge for 15 years.
