French President, Emmanuel Macron, says Putin does not want peace

French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday, stated that Moscow must provide a clear answer regarding the possibility of a ceasefire in Ukraine.
He noted that, at this point, it does not seem that Russia desires peace, informs BGMTV.
Macron calls on Russia for clear response to ceasefire.
Macron said,
“Russia does not give the impression of sincerely wanting peace.
It does not respond to the proposals of the United States and Ukraine.
“It is intensifying the fighting. President Putin wants to obtain everything, then negotiate.” he added.
He added that their strategy of peace through strength is currently under threat.
Additionally, pressure must be applied to Russia to achieve a ceasefire.
“If we want peace, Russia must respond clearly, and pressure must be clear, in coordination with the US, in order to reach a ceasefire,” Macron declared.
Macron also thanked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for being courage to propose a peace initiative with US President Trump.
He also thanked him for offering a one-month ceasefire.
Macron emphasized that for the sake of lasting peace, it is necessary to help Ukraine endure so that, in the future, it will have a strong army defending its country.
He also stated that they must be ready to guarantee that peace, calling for collective strength.
Notably, Macron participated in a summit of Ukraine’s allies, held this morning via video link.
The Élysée Palace announced that the meeting took place at the initiative of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The meeting was reportedly co-chaired by the United Kingdom and France.
Later, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that if Russia does not agree to a ceasefire, the coalition of countries will increase pressure on Putin to force the Russian dictator into negotiations.
According to media reports, it was after a video conference organized by London that Macron stated that Russia did not show a sincere desire for peace.
He also said that Russia does not respond to the proposal of the United States and Ukraine for a monthly truce.
Macron alleged that Russia “is intensifying hostilities”, and Russian President Vladimir Putin “wants to get everything and then negotiate”.
