Friends, associates set to celebrate Archbishop Joseph Ekuwem

By Kenneth Jude:   Finishing touches are being applied in preparation for the 75th birthday celebration/Thanksgiving Mass and presentation of a book of His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Effiong Ekuwem, the archiboshop of Calabar and the Metropolitan of Calabar Ecclesiastical Province.

The event is billed to take place on Tuesday March 25, 2025 at Sacred Heart Parish, Aka Offot with Holy Mass at 10am prompt.

There will be reception after the Holy Mass at Flairmore Events Centre, Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo.

His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno is the Special Guest of Honour, while Engr. Patrick Ekpotu, a former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State will chair the occasion.

The lead promoter of the event is Arc. Obong Victor Attah, former governor of Akwa Ibom State.

Professor Des Wilson of the University of Uyo is the chairman, Central Planning Committee.

Until his appointment as the archbishop of Calabar in 2013, Archbishop Ekuwem was previously the Chief Shepherd of the Catholic Diocese of Uyo were he served meritoriously.

The event which is being organized by friends and associates of the archbishop is in thanksgiving to God for the grace upon his life, while also celebrating his selfless services to God, the Catholic Church and humanity in general.

A highly disciplined and principled cleric, Archbishop Joseph Ekuwem is currently the Chairman of the Christian Religious Advisory Council, Akwa Ibom State.

The event is open to all.
