In a bold step toward shaping Nigeria’s digital future, the Raymond Elombah Foundation, in partnership with Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), has unveiled a fully-funded digital skills scholarship for 100 young people in Nnewi, Anambra State.

Announced on Thursday, June 19, 2025, the initiative—“Empowering the Next Generation of Digital Leaders in Nnewi”, aims to equip youths with top-tier digital skills that not only make them job-ready, but also globally competitive.

The partnership was officially declared by DDM CEO, Mr. Daniel Elombah.

This was during a strategic meeting with the Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, at DDM’s headquarters in Awka.

This digital scholarship program covers 100% of tuition costs and will train selected participants in key areas such as:

  • Web development
  • Digital marketing
  • Content creation
  • Tech innovation tools

But this initiative offers much more than classroom instruction.

Participants will:

  1. Attend expert-led workshops and interactive training sessions,
  2. Complete real-world projects that showcase practical knowledge,
  3. Serve as DDM Youth Ambassadors, promoting tech awareness and digital inclusion in their local communities.

To qualify, applicants must either reside in Nnewi or be of Nnewi descent, and show genuine passion for technology, community development, and self-advancement.

The Raymond Elombah Foundation, established on June 1, 2025, is committed to transforming lives through digital empowerment.

Created in honor of the late Mr. Raymond Elombah, the Foundation envisions a future where digital knowledge fuels innovation, opportunity, and economic growth across Africa.

“This is not just about training people in tech, it is about launching a movement,” said Mr. Elombah.

“We are giving young Nigerians the tools to take control of their futures.”
