Fuji Legend Love Azeez Passes Away at 81

The Fuji music community is in mourning following the passing of veteran musician Alhaji Love Azeez Oladeji, who died at the age of 81.

The respected artiste reportedly passed away on Wednesday at his home in Lagos after a short illness.

His death was made known by Adekunle Abiodun, the General Secretary of the Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria (FUMAN), who shared the news in a heartfelt social media post.

Expressing his grief, Abiodun described the late singer as a highly revered figure in the Fuji genre, noting that his contributions to the industry spanned several decades. He also referred to him as “Baba wa,” a phrase used to honor elders held in high esteem.

Widely recognized as one of the oldest and most dedicated figures in Fuji music, Love Azeez played a significant role in shaping and sustaining the genre through the years.

In line with Islamic customs, he was buried shortly after his death.

His passing marks the close of a remarkable chapter in Fuji music history, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to influence upcoming generations of artists.
